About the Building
Originally part of the gatehouse to the Kirkstall Abbey complex, it has been an abbot’s house and a domestic home for over three centuries. It became a museum in 1927 with the aim to “preserve and display the history of the people of Leeds”.
Location
Situated 3 miles from Leeds centre on the A65, with good bus and road links. The proximity of Kirkstall Abbey gives opportunities for a joint visit.
