Two-thirds of all child pedestrian accidents occur in residential areas, partly due to drivers not slowing down once they have left the main road. Several areas in Leeds have been selected to become 20mph zones, and where necessary introduce traffic calming features such as speed cushions, speed tables etc. Middleton Sissons is one of the areas that have been chosen and it is intended to implement the 20mph zone following consultation with the residents living within the area.
