The Department for Transport - road safety education
The road safety team delivers both classroom and practical road safety training in as many schools as possible and we also promote the road safety resources and lessons that are available on the Department for Transport website. These lesson plans and resources are free to download and can be used by other professionals who might deliver road safety education in schools.
The 'Seat Belt On?' campaign
Leeds is currently involved in the regional 'Seat Belt On?' campaign. The aim of the campaign is to increase set belt and car seat use with a view to reducing death and serious injury to vehicle occupants. The resources to support this campaign include an assembly plan for primary schools, and activity sheets and lesson plans for KS2 resources 'Sam's Story' and 'Sunita's Story', and links to in car safety resources on the Department for Transport website.
