Vehicle removal and clamping

The council can remove your vehicle if it is causing a blockage for other road users.  For example if it is blocking an entrance, is parked on a corner or is dangerous to other road users.

If we have removed your vehicle, we will charge you the following fees to get it back

  • Penalty charge of £50 or £70 depending on the offence (if you pay within 14 days this fee will be £25 or £35)
  • Release charge of £105
  • Storage - £12 every 24 hours

So if you reclaim your vehicle within 24 hours it will cost either £130 or £140, rising by £12 for each subsequent day.

Your vehicle may be clamped if you are a persistent evader of paying penalty charges or if your vehicle is not registered with the DVLA.

Please contact the office on 0113 395 0050 if your vehicle has been removed or clamped. The office is open 8.30 am – 5 pm Monday - Friday. You will need to provide proof of ownership and proof of address before the vehicle is released.
