Based at Carnegie Gymnastics centre, co-ordinates the club and performance pathways in men’s artistic, women’s artistic and sports acro sections. Lajos is also the head coach for men’s artistic.

Leeds Gymnastics leisure centre classes

Pre school Gymnastics Leeds has had a successful pre school gymnastics programme for over 15 years, and now has one of the largest programmes in the country. The original badge scheme was updated in April 2002 and now has 9 badges in the set. The scheme is known as "Jungle gymnastics" and has two levels of class:

Gym minis - 1–2 yrs / 3–4 yrs - Parents / guardians work and interact with the children in activities to develop gross and fine motor skills, colour / number identification, speech, social interaction, exploratory play in addition to key foundation gymnastics skills.

Gymikins – A progression from Gym minis, as the children work without parents and are left with the coaches in preparation for starting nursery / school.
65 classes weekly across ten centres.

Recreational Gymnastics Classes for boys and girls from 4 - 16yrs.
Classes progress from pre beginners, beginners, intermediates, advanced, competition class, teen gym, adult gym (16+ yrs), club grades. Boys only classes are offered at 8 centres, the other 5 centres all run mixed classes.
Children from these classes are all assessed to be invited to selection sessions at Carnegie to join the performance programmes in men’s, women’s and sports acro.
The Leeds Gymnastics Awards were launched in April 2002 and offer 3 levels of badges in floor, bars, beam and vault.
76 classes weekly across 13 centres.

Trampolining is offered at Holt Park leisure centre from 5yrs – adults.
11 weekly classes.

Competitions
All gymnasts over 6 years old have the opportunity to enter an internal class competition (floor & vault) during spring term, with a final being held in the summer term for each centre to enter a representative team. This is organised by the Sports Development unit and supported by Morley Leisure Centre. 13 internal competitions are held with over 500 gymnasts entering in total, and 180 gymnasts represent their centres at the final.

Development Officer delivering whole school INSET training for Primary schools in partnership with Leeds Education and SSCO’s.
Leeds Gymnastics KS2 schools competition.

West Yorkshire Youth Games schools competition, team routines – KS2 / 3.

Examples of partnership work with local community clubs 2002 – 2004.
- The Zone, Moortown. – Jewish youth group, support with their "Awards for All" bid for equipment, purchasing equipment, training / mentoring coaches, guidance on how to set up classes.
- YMCA – Halton Moor and Hawksworth Wood branches. Leeds coaches lead free after school clubs for the YMCA, also linking into Leeds Gymnastics events.
- Surestart – Under 5’s DFES scheme. Middleton Leisure centre new gym minis room built April 2003.
- "Get Away Girls" taster sessions in gymnastics and trampolining – Asian girls youth group based in Harehills.
- Roundhay community trampolining club at Roundhay high school.
- Yorkshire Theatre Dance School – Halton. Started gymnastics / dance classes April 2004. Assisted with health and safety advice and opportunities for the classes to develop.
- Temple Moor Halton Gymnastics Club – Club set up in January 2004 based in local primary schools. Affiliated to Yorkshire Gymnastics.
