Protected tree information and enquiry form

Oak tree

Many trees in Leeds are protected by law, under the Town and Country Planning Act. This may be with a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), by planning conditions, legal agreement or if the trees are situated in a Conservation Area.

If you have an enquiry about whether a tree is protected, fill out and submit the form below and we will respond by e-mail or phone, as you prefer.

To help tree owners and others interested in or affected by trees, guidance leaflets about protected trees are available as downloadable documents, see below. For further information, please contact the landscape team clerk.
