Library charges

Anybody can join the Library and most services are free. What we do charge for is listed in the pdf on the right of the page in more detail. For quick reference, here's a handy list of some of the charges

Fines - overdue items

Daily charge for day or part day starting from the first day after the item was due to be returned or renewed.

• Adults £0.20
• Senior citizens (concessions) £0.15
• Children (under 16) £0.10 
• An administration charge of £3.00 per transaction applies for all category of customers to items not returned within 6 weeks of the due date.

Computer printouts  - Black & white or colour £0.15 per page (inc VAT)

Music CDs -per week or part week

• Single disc £0.90, 2 or more discs £1.70
• Daily fines are charged at the standard rate on overdue items.
• Visually impaired people - first hire period is free. Daily fines are charged on overdue items.

• LeedsCard Priority/Extra holders receive a 20% reduction - £0.70 (single disc) and £1.35 (2 or more discs). Daily fines are charged on overdue items.

  DVDs - per week or part week
• Red spot £2.10, Green spot £1.70 , Orange spot £1.00
• Daily fines are charged at the standard rate on overdue items.
• There are no concessions on DVD hire.

Talking Books

• Talking Books £1.60 per 3 week loan or part
• Free to people with a visual or other reading related impairment.
• There are no other concessions on Talking Book hire.
• Daily fines are charged at the standard rate on overdue items.

Children’s storytapes  - no charge
