Why do we have booksales?
Leeds Library and Information Services are constantly seeking to provide a relevant and up-to-date service to our customers. We are therefore continually monitoring the stock, buying new items and disposing of others which no longer meet your needs. The reasons these items are on sale is because they are one of the following:
- in poor physical condition
- out of date in content or presentation
- no longer reflecting your needs
All income from these sales is used for libraries and a proportion is spent on libraries in the area of Leeds where the sale takes place.
Typical prices are
- Adult non-fiction 50p - £1
- Fiction - 25p
- Children's stock - 25p
- Reference items - individually priced
