Leeds Library and Information Service are introducing a new, electronic self-service system for borrowing, renewing and returning your books, CDs and DVDs.
Using the latest RFID (Radio Frequency Information) technology the system will revolutionise the process of checking in and out library loans. By simply scanning your library card and items for loan you can self-issue, renew and return your books by following the simple instructions on screen. The self-service unit will print a receipt as confirmation.
Benefits of the self-service system are:
- A quick, easy and convenient way for you to issue, renew and return book
- More library staff on hand to assist with your enquires.
- Improved control and tracking of stock
- A more welcoming, vibrant and interactive environment at your local library.
The self-service system was introduced in April at Morley Library and Leeds Central Library. Over 30 branches across the city will be installed with the system. Staff will be on hand to help you get started in using the system.
