Lifesaving is a growing sport, soon to be seen in the Olympic Games. Competitions are held all over the country at club, branch, regional, national and international levels.
Competitive Club Lifesaving
Club lifesaving includes many different events, such as: swim and tow, obstacle swims, body boarding, aquatic incidents and initiative tests, line throws. Life support and first aid incidents and initiative tests.
As well as club competitions throughout the country, Lifesavers, RLSS UK annually hold the national lifesaving championships. Competitors progress through branch and regional events before reaching the national finals.
Competitive Speed Lifesaving

- Speed lifesaving could open that door!
The events are:
- Obstacle swim - 200m and 100m Super Lifesaver - 200m
- Manikin carry - 50m Line Throw & Line Throw relay - 4 x 12m
- Rescue medley - 100m Manikin Relay - 4 x 25m
- Manikin carry with fins - 100m Obstacle Relay - 4 x 50m
- Manikin tow with fins - 100m Medley Relay - 4 x 50m
