6 Book Challenge Awards
3 July, Costa Coffee Shop, Merrion Centre, Leeds
Best-selling writer Mike Gayle will be talking about his writing as part of six book challenge – an award in partnership with Costa Coffee and Leeds Libraries to get people reading. The author will present certificates to Leeds readers who have successfully completed the changes.
Irvine Welsh Visit

Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting among many international bestsellers, returns to Leeds Libraries to launch his new novel Crime. For tickets contact the Carriageworks Box Office on 0113 224 3801.
Summer Reading Challenge

This year’s Summer Reading Challenge kicks off on Saturday 12 July. This national initiative encourages children and young people to get reading. Just complete six books over the summer and collect some great novelty prizes along the way. Polish Day
23 July, 2pm-3.30pm
Chapel Allerton Library
Enjoy food tasting, poetry and more about Polish culture in this free event at Chapel Allerton Library. There will be children’s activities from 2pm – 3.30pm and events for adults from 7pm – 8.30pm. Just come along a join in.
