Supporting community groups

In March 2009 we helped a local group to improve habitats for fish and wildlife at Yeadon Tarn by planting willow
In July we helped organise the Billy Wood Fun Day to help the Friends of Billy Wood promote Townclose Hills Local Nature Reserve

The Parks and Countryside Rangers support a number of community and Friends of groups across the city so that they can promote and protect their local wildlife and green spaces.

We can help these groups with practical countryside management tasks, fundraising, publicity, environmental education, events and organising meetings.

To find ‘Friends of’ groups in your area or for support and advice on setting up a community group, please contact us on countrysiderangers@leeds.gov.uk or 0113 237 5312.  Details of some of the groups we work with can be found in the Out and About leaflet, which can be downloaded in full from the main Ranger page, or you can just look at the relevant pages by clicking on the link to the right.
