We provide grant aid to external organisations in order to promote interest, understanding, learning and participation by citizens in gardening,  horticulture, nature conservation, countryside and the environment.

Who can apply
Voluntary and non-profit making groups only and they must

  • have a democratic structure and a bank account, and must be able to demonstrate that it can manage its affairs effectively.
  • Schools can apply, but only through the Parent Teachers Association, Garden Club or similar body.
  • demonstrate that its policies and procedures comply with our Equal Opportunities, Environment Policy, and Green Strategy.

Some of the things we will fund

  • Project development costs
  • Publicity and printing costs
  • Equipment essential to establish the project
  • Training costs related to obtaining relevant skills
  • Establishment of horticultural or nature groups
  • Establishment of ‘In Bloom’ groups
  • Interpretation of leaflets and information boards.

How much is the grant for
The maximum grant will be £500, but larger grants may be available if funds allow and at our discretion.
Organisations may apply for funding for similar projects or purposes for a maximum of three consecutive years.
