Applicants will now advertise their application in a local newspaper and site notices will be placed at the proposed location. Interested parties and responsible authorities may make representations about the applications until 24 May 2012.
The applications are available to view via the council's Public Access website at http://licensingapplications.leeds.gov.uk or at the offices at St George House, 40 Great George Street, Leeds, LS1.
It is anticipated that stage one applications will be considered at a hearing in July. Successful stage one applicants will be invited to participate in stage two of the application process, whereby the council will determine which application will provide greatest benefit to the city. Stage two is expected to conclude in spring 2013.
As the granting of a casino licence is a statutory process, Leeds City Council will make no comment on any of the applications and the council has no preferred location or applicant.
All other enquiries concerning this process must be addressed in writing to Leeds City Council by email to large.casino@leeds.gov.uk. Oral enquiries will not be accepted at any stage during the process.
