Learning @ Leisure offers a variety of different evening classes for adults with learning disabilities/difficulties.  Sessions are held at the Blenheim Centre on a Monday and Wednesday evening.

We promote lifelong learning, and applications are welcome from anyone over 19 years old.  Referrals can be made through the Careers Service or Personal Advisers, by parents/carers, by schools, by Social Workers or Care Managers or by any other advocate.

Each learner follows an individual learning plan and we work to develop close links with learners’ home and daytime activities.  We aim to work in a person-centred way to support learners.  We also work closely with other professionals such as Community Support Team Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers.

All groups are run by qualified teachers, and we also have a tutorial support tutor who helps each learn write and maintain their individual learning plan.  The sessions offered vary from year to year, depending on the learners’ needs for that year, but an example of activities are:  sensory art, art and craft, trampolining, dance, drama and music or basic cookery.
