If you want to apply for sheltered housing with Leeds City Council or some housing associations you will have to fill in a Leeds Homes housing register form. You need to tell us on request on your application form that you want to live in sheltered housing.

Priority extra plus - is when a customer has two (or more) different types of housing needs, for example, if you have an urgent medical need and you are fleeing domestic violence. You can also be awarded priority extra plus if you and another member of your household are both in housing need. For example, if you are homeless and another member of your household has a severe disability
-
Priority extra – includes customers who are considered to have high medical need to be rehoused or homeless people who are considered to be vulnerable and therefore less able to fend for themselves. Elderly homeless people will generally be placed in this category.
-
Priority – includes customers who are considered to have medical need to be rehoused.
-
General needs – all customers who do not fit into either of the priority categories.
If you feel your housing needs are changing due to medical problems, we have a specialist team called medical housing service who operate a medical priority assessment to help customers access suitable housing to meet their needs.
