Opening times
- April to October: 8am - 6pm (British summer time)
- November to March: 8am - 4pm (Greenwich mean time)
The site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Years Day.
We only accept household waste from Leeds' residents at our household waste sorting sites.
If you want to use a van to dispose of your own household waste you can only do so on a Wednesday or a Saturday. This is to help ensure that trade waste is not being disposed of illegally by businesses at household waste sorting sites. Business waste is not allowed at the household waste sorting site.
To dispose of asbestos or other hazardous waste, there is a special procedure you must follow to protect the Health and Safety of our customers and staff. Please see our dangerous and poisonous waste advice.
At this site householders can recycle:

- gas bottles - please return cylinders to the supplier in the first instance

At the waste transfer station next door you can dispose of trade waste.
Businesses have a legal responsibility to safely contain and dispose of their trade waste. When trade waste is disposed of you must obtain a "Waste Transfer Note" to provide proof of how you have disposed of your waste and these for two years. You should provide these when requested.
Businesses can dispose of their trade waste at any private commercial waste disposal site or at the commercial waste transfer station. At the commercial waste transfer station you will be asked to drive on to the weighbridge and will be charged according to the weight of your waste and giving you a receipt or transfer note.

The weighbridge is open from 8am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 12pm Saturday. Please remember the weighbridge does not operate on a Sunday.
Waste is currently charged at £117.42 per tonne, minimum charge £59.52 per half tonne. Hazardous waste such as freezers, fridges, televisions and fluorescent tubes will be charged separately. For information on charges please contact the site.
Alternatively businesses can arrange for an authorised waste contractor to collect and dispose of their waste. If you are found disposing of your waste illegally you will be prosecuted and could be fined thousands and/or imprisoned. You can also be prosecuted for not keeping or producing proof of your waste transfer/disposal.
