Leeds City Council services
A good quality environment makes the city an attractive place to live, invest and work. The City Council maintains a high standard by:
- Making provision for 'green' space in new development
- Combating noise nuisance through a 24hour hotline.
- Street cleaning and refuse collection. A zero tolerance policy means that £50 fines are issued for people who drop litter or allow their dogs to foul our streets. Failure to pay will result in prosecution leading to a fine of £2500.
Key Performance Indicator EM19 :% of relevant land and highways assessed as having combined deposits of litter and detritus that fall below an acceptable level (assessed by external agency against pre-determined cleanliness criteria).
