If you or your organisation provide supported housing services and get Supporting People funding we will need to carry out an inspection of your service.
We will produce a timetable of services that we need to review. We will contact you to discuss the process and let you know what information we will need from you. We will also tell you which service we want to validate and to arrange suitable dates for our visit. You will also receive a letter confirming this.
You will have to complete a number of documents. These will always include the Quality Assessment Framework (QAF). You will find links on this page which mean you can download a copy of the QAF form. We can also send you a copy of this by email. You can find our contact details on this page.
What is the QAF?
The Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) is a document that the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) have produced. The QAF helps to make sure that supported housing services across the country are of the highest standard. It does this by giving providers and administering authorities ways to review and assess local services and make sure that they meet national standards.
As the administering authority, we have to assess service performance by looking at how you provide your services. We will award a performance level against each of the core objectives and any extra supplementary objectives you have agreed to.
The DCLG also designed the QAF as a way to make sure services continue to improve. Two of the aims of Supporting People are to improve quality standards and to make sure that services develop to meet changing needs of service users.
