The housing and support needs of people living with HIV and/or Hepatitis C in Leeds

This research looks at the housing and housing related support needs of people living with HIV and/or Hepatitis C in Leeds, identifying any barriers to accessing services.  It also makes recommendations to improve existing services and to inform the development of future Supporting People services for people living with a life affecting illness/condition.

'I'm not past it': access into sheltered housing by Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) elders in Leeds

This research aimed to identify the unmet sheltered housing needs and access into sheltered housing by BME elders in Leeds. It makes recommendations as to how the accessibility of sheltered housing for BME elders could be improved.

This research project looks at the housing and support needs of homeless families living in temporary accommodation in Leeds. It also examines the available support and recommends improvements that could be made or where other services could be developed.

This research project looks at the needs of young people aged 16-25 with ‘chaotic lifestyles’. It also identifies ways in which services could be developed to better meet their needs.

This research project looks at the housing and support needs of mentally disordered offenders. It also identifies how different services meet their needs and recommends ways to improve them. 

Ultimate Choice:  Evaluating the need for a wet hostel in Leeds
James Woodhead & Trish Holder, October 2002

This research project assesses the need for a Wet Hostel in Leeds. This would be used by older male drinkers who do not wish to stop drinking and who have a 'chaotic housing history' and have slept rough.

Just Surviving: The housing and support needs of people on the fringes of homelessness and/ or the criminal justice system in West Yorkshire

This research project looks at the housing and support needs of people in contact with criminal justice and/ or homelessness systems. It aims to address the problem of 'hidden homelessness' where housing and support needs are not met.

Melanie Lovatt, December 2006

This project investigated the housing support needs of Gypsies and Travellers, and included consultation with Gypsies and Travellers and with specialist agencies.
