Council tax discounts, exemptions and reductions
You can claim online for some council tax discounts, exemptions and reductions:

• if you are the only adult (aged 18 or over) living at your address
  
  
• if you are a full time student
  
  
• for someone living in a residential care home, hospital or certain type of hostel and not intending to return home
  
  
• for some living in prison
