Leeds Change for Children Programme

Children playing

Children Leeds is the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership for Leeds. It's part of the Leeds Initiative, which is the city-wide local stategic partnership (LSP for Leeds).

Children Leeds is made up of organisations that provide services to children, young people and families including Leeds City Council, Education Leeds, health services, the voluntary and community sectors.

Children Leeds is responsible for the radical programme of change for services for children and young people in Leeds under the Children Act 2004.

The Children Act puts a fresh focus on:

  • supporting families and carers;
  • acting early to prevent crisis;
  • integrating services for children;
  • valuing, rewarding and training those who work with children.

It gives all who work with children and young people a shared goal: to enable children to;

  • be healthy;
  • stay safe;
  • enjoy and achieve;
  • make a positive contribution;
  • achieve economic well-being.
