Diving at Leeds City Council leisure centres 

 

 

 

 

We have a successful diving programme and  a large number of our athlete reach major national and international competitions. We provide structured training for all abilities from the beginner to international level competitor.

Learn to dive lessons
We provide structured diving lessons for children and adults at the aquatics centre, John Charles centre for sport and children’s lessons at Aireborough leisure centre.

Children work towards the Dolphin Diving and ASA Kellogg's diving awards scheme of badges. When they have all the badges they can join the diving training scheme.

Diving training scheme 
Our diving training scheme is one of the largest and most successful in the UK and our divers have represented us at the Olympics.

Entry to the scheme is by invitation, either through the learn to dive programme or through assessment / talent identification from one of the diving coaches. All diving scheme sessions are held at the John Charles centre for sport. 

Throughout the scheme divers can progress from county to regional and national standard, at the top level of the scheme, divers are of international standard.

All coaches are Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) qualified and hold enhanced safeguarding certificates.
