Personal budgets peer support group

Personal Budgets Peer Support Group flyer

Anyone who uses direct payments or personal budgets can now get advice and support from people who manage their own social care services.

Free to Live, the Leeds Personal Budgets Peer Support Network, is an independent group of volunteers who all receive direct payments or personal budgets. They offer informal advice to anyone who manages their own support.

Membership of the network is free, and is open to anyone using direct payments or personal budgets, who would like to share their own experiences and provide support to others.

  • Find out more about the group in the Peer Support Network flyer, available to download from this page

Telephone helpline and website

A helpline and website are available, run exclusively by service users who receive direct payments. People can ring up for advice, to share experiences or to be signposted to further information - and talk to someone familiar with what it's like to manage one's own support package.

The volunteers have received extensive training for their role as informal advisers.

  • Find out more about the helpline in the Personal Budgets Helpline flyer, available to download from this page, or telephone 0113 214 3594.
