Home Care

Home care is now known as 'community support'.

We can support you with day-to-day personal care and domestic chores so that you can continue to live as independently as possible in your own home.

Our staff can visit you to assist with personal care, for example, eating and drinking, washing and dressing, getting up or going to bed, going to the toilet and taking medication.

If you are assessed as needing further support in addition to personal care, we can also do practical things for you, such as shopping, preparing food, and doing laundry, ironing and cleaning.

We can also help if you look after a relative or friend at home. If a carer is at risk from stress or health problems, for example, we can help by providing support for the person they look after for a period of time.

How to get community support

To apply for a community support service you first need to receive a community care assessment. This means that someone from Social Care will arrange to visit you to talk about the support you need at home.

To arrange an assessment, call us on 0113 398 4702.
