Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) training and development standards
The Leeds Fostering Service launched the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) standards in June 2009. This page is designed to provide access for foster carers to documents relating to the standards and to those included in the foster carer personal development portfolio. Also provided is a link to the CWDC website so carers can access CWDC material including the workbook, carers guide and more.

Training and development

Support groups
Foster carer support groups are part of the payment for skills scheme requirements and provide additional opportunities for training and development including guest speakers.

Leeds Foster Care Association
The LFCA is a campaigning, independent organisation supporting Leeds foster carers. Membership is free and provides access to a range of support, advice, social events and more. To find out more please contact 0113 2870804 or follow the link to the LFCA website on this page.
LFCA Carers Meetings:
The Leeds Foster Care Association hold regular meetings for foster carers at the Fulneck room, Pudsey Civic Hall. Details of meetings for 2012 will be published soon.
