We provide a range of financial and material support to meet the costs of caring for fostered children. Financial support for foster carers is made up of two main components - a weekly allowance (child age related) and a weekly fee (payment for your fostering skill level).

We have introduced a payment for skills support model where fees are payable to foster carers on levels two, three and four.

Other assistance
We provide a range of material and other financial support, including essential equipment (e.g. beds / bedding / safety gates), fostered children’s clothing needs, certain transport costs and other expenses related to fostering commitments.

What level can i start fostering on?
New applicants can enter at levels two, three and four if meeting the tasks, skills and competencies requirements for that level. We will discuss an appropriate level with you when we discuss your interest in more detail following your registration of interest and at a initial home visit. Level four fostering is a full time, home based self employment commitment requiring significant child care / related experience.
