Early Support is a government programme to achieve better co-ordinated, family focused services for disabled children and their families early on in their lives.
Early Years SEN service specialist staff that are part of the sensory team. They offer a regular Portage Home Visiting Service to families who have a pre-school child with special educational needs, who show how to teach children new skills and support the transition into an early year setting.

Leeds Inclusion Support Scheme provide advice and equipment for education or play settings. They also support and advise play settings to ensure that children with disabilities can access mainstream play settings, holiday play schemes and after school clubs.
The Parent Partnership service help, support and give impartial advice on partnership between schools or early years settings and parents, plus run support groups.

Connexions career advice and guidance, who have personal advisors who work with 14 to 25 year old with learning difficulties and disabilities. They providing advocacy, holistic support on personal issues and signposting them to activities and organisations based on their needs.

Deaf and Hearing Impaired Support Service (DAHISS) is the main agency working with children and their parents after diagnosis of hearing loss. Support, information and advice is given to schools, pupils and parents in the area of deafness and hearing impairment, through pre-school, school and into further education.

The Visually Impaired team consists of teachers, mobility officers and trained nursery nurses working with Leeds children with visual impairments from birth to 19 years old. They offer assessment, information, advice and support for children and parents before school and throughout his or her education.
