Alzheimer’s Society gives support to families and individuals affected by dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. They campaign, lobby and represent the needs of carers and provide information about the condition and what aids, services and resources are available. In addition the Leeds branch offers the following:

  • Information, advice service and emotional support to carers
  • Relatives support group and/or talks by visiting speakers as well as occasional complimentary therapies
  • Monthly local dementia Café meetings
  • Day care for people aged under 65 with dementia, with activities, trips out, relaxation time and complementary therapies
  • Holiday grant towards the cost of a holiday for the carer alone or together with the cared for person
  • Liaise with professional and voluntary agencies on carers’ behalf
  • Carers support workers who can visit carers at home
  • Quarterly Newsletter
