Evenings: 7pm    Matinees: 2pm (4pm Sunday)

nutty.gif Snow is falling as Clara and her family prepare for their Christmas party. Her Uncle, Herr Drosselmeyer, arrives with tales of his exotic travels. Everyone is excited by his gifts but none is more loved than the strange wooden Nutcracker doll Clara holds fiercely in her arms. But her Nutcracker is much more than it seems. As the clock strikes midnight she finds herself in a dream world where she must fight a battle with the wicked Mouse King before being whisked away on an enchanting journey.

nutcrack.gifEnter the magical world of Clara’s imagination in Northern Ballet Theatre’s The Nutcracker. This traditional ballet is a treat for the whole family - with beautiful costumes, spectacular sets and Tchaikovsky’s famous score, including The Waltz of the Flowers and The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.

“A Christmas cracker by a star company.” Jeffery Taylor, Sunday Express 2007

“Traditional as sugar mice, candy canes and chocolate money, Northern Ballet Theatre’s new production should be a Christmas favourite for years to come.” Stephanie Ferguson, Yorkshire Post, December 2007

“The production succeeds where it really matters, as a holiday treat and a perfect introduction to ballet’s delights.” Barbara Newman, Country Life 2007
