Facilities

Access

Millennium Square can be accessed off Portland Gate / Portland Crescent, Cookridge Street, Rossington Street, Great George Street or Calverley Street with level / sloped access provided at each of these points. Exact entrance and exit arrangements will vary depending on specific events. The Square itself follows the natural topography of the surrounding ground levels and slopes down from North to South. Seating is provided to the North and West edges of the Square in the form of metal benches which incorporate back rests and arm rests. When a large event is being held in the Square and public toilets underneath the Broderick Terrace to the North East of the Square are in use for that event, two disabled persons toilets with a choice of right and left handed transfer and can be accessed via radar locks will be available, and are accessible via a ramped approach. Otherwise the nearest disabled persons toilets are located in the Leeds City Museum which is on the Eastern edge of the Square (subject to museum opening hours): The nearest Changing Places toilet to Millennium Square is located in the Leeds Gallery Shop & Café, Central Library and Art Gallery, The Headrow, LS1 3AA. Nearby on street designated disabled persons parking (4 hour time limit, no return within 1 hour) is available on: Portland Gate (to the North side of the Square) Portland Crescent (to the North side of the Square) Rossington Street (to the South East side of the Square) Cookridge Street (to the South side of the Square) Alexander Street (to the South side of the Square) Calverley Street (to the West side of the Square) Woodhouse Lane multi storey car park also provides non-time limited designated disabled persons parking on Levels 1 and 7 which is free for blue badge holders.
