The Ice Cube returns to Millennium Square on Friday 24 January – Sunday 23 February 2014 with:

  • Outdoor real ice rink with accessible skating for all
  • Nursery rink for budding skaters (age 8 years & under) 
  • Capital FM Snowslide
  • Other Wintertime rides/attractions
  • Dolomites Café by Casa Mia


Ice Rink

Skating sessions are based on a 1 hour session and include skate hire. Remember to wrap up warm and arrive 30 minutes in advance of your session start time:

Saturday, Sunday and Leeds Schools' Half Term (14 – 21 February) 10.00am, 11.15am, 12.30pm, 1.45pm, 3.00pm, 4.15pm, 5.30pm, 6.45pm and 8.00pm (no 8.00pm session on Sunday)

Monday – Friday 12.30pm, 3.00pm, 4.15pm, 5.30pm, 6.45pm and 8.00pm

Accessible session dedicated to wheelchair users and those with disabilities every Thursday at 9am.

Skating lessons are available on Saturday and Sunday mornings (see website for further details).

Children aged 12 years and under must be accompanied at the Ice Cube by an adult (aged 18years or over). Children aged 7years and under must be accompanied on the ice by an adult.

Adult (18 yrs. or over) - £7.50
LEEDSCard* / Concessions* (Disabled, over 60’s, students, and 13-17yr olds in full time education) - £6.00
Child (12 yrs and under) / LEEDSCard Extra holders* - £5.50
BreezeCard holder - £5.00
Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children or 1 adult + 3 children, must include 1 adult 18yrs or over) - £21.00
Parent and Toddler (an adult 18yrs or over and a toddler 5 yrs. or under) - £9.50

Capital FM Snowslide

Get ready for an amazing fun filled ride down a 40m long dry slope slide. Venture to the top of the slide (6m high), seat yourself in a large rubber ring and feel the ultimate rush as you zoom back to ground level!
To ride the snow slide individually, persons must be above 1.1m in height.
You can ride with younger children (not recommended for children under 2 years) safely at your discretion as a parent or guardian. You will need to sit securely in the snow tube with the younger child is sitting firmly in your lap.
You need to buy your ticket in advance or from the onsite Ice Cube Ticket Office when you arrive before joining the queue.

Leeds' award winning outdoor public space and live entertainment venue



Millennium Square can be accessed off Portland Gate / Portland Crescent, Cookridge Street, Rossington Street, Great George Street or Calverley Street with level / sloped access provided at each of these points. Exact entrance and exit arrangements will vary depending on specific events. The Square itself follows the natural topography of the surrounding ground levels and slopes down from North to South. Seating is provided to the North and West edges of the Square in the form of metal benches which incorporate back rests and arm rests. When a large event is being held in the Square and public toilets underneath the Broderick Terrace to the North East of the Square are in use for that event, two disabled persons toilets with a choice of right and left handed transfer and can be accessed via radar locks will be available, and are accessible via a ramped approach. Otherwise the nearest disabled persons toilets are located in the Leeds City Museum which is on the Eastern edge of the Square (subject to museum opening hours): The nearest Changing Places toilet to Millennium Square is located in the Leeds Gallery Shop & Café, Central Library and Art Gallery, The Headrow, LS1 3AA. Nearby on street designated disabled persons parking (4 hour time limit, no return within 1 hour) is available on: Portland Gate (to the North side of the Square) Portland Crescent (to the North side of the Square) Rossington Street (to the South East side of the Square) Cookridge Street (to the South side of the Square) Alexander Street (to the South side of the Square) Calverley Street (to the West side of the Square) Woodhouse Lane multi storey car park also provides non-time limited designated disabled persons parking on Levels 1 and 7 which is free for blue badge holders.
