Art installation by Gabriella Mann

Kirkstall Abbey

10 November 2012 2:00pm - 3:00pm

Art installation at Kirkstall Abbey.

This afternoon Gabriella Mann will be doing an art installation in the Chapter House of Kirkstall Abbey.

'If something disintegrates it usually infers that it is dying. However, what if disintegration wasn’t about the death of something but the growth of another. 150 sheets of scrunched up A2 tracing paper have been pressed into black mono printing ink and installed across the floor of the Chapter House, Kirkstall Abbey. Symbolising presence, the tracing paper emulates the fleeting materiality of objects, structures, beings within our own lives and the black ink signifying what we actually see, use and invest in an object.'
