Classical Fantasia

Classical Fantasia at Kirkstall Abbey

 

The annual performance of Classical Fantasia, the hugely popular open-air classical music concert set in the grounds of Kirkstall Abbey.

The event will once again feature a popular repertoire of fantasy-inspired music performed by the Northern Ballet Sinfonia under the leadership of John Pryce-Jones and accompanied by the now-famous spectacular illumination of the ruins and electrifying fireworks.

This year's event at Kirkstall Abbey is supported by media partners Magic 828 and the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The main performance is scheduled to start from 8pm with gates open from 6pm (all times subject to alteration). Children 5 years and under go free (no ticket necessary). All persons aged 16 years or under must be accompanied by an adult.

Bring your own picnic which can include food, drink, alcohol, glass, cans, crockery and cutlery. There will also be food and drink retailers on site including a licensed bar. Bring your own collapsible seating and picnic style furniture. Please note that no large items of furniture such as; tents, awnings, gazebos or large parasols are permitted. Barbecues, paper lanterns or any lighting with a naked flame are also not permitted.

    • City Centre Box Office (10am - 6pm) in The Carriageworks on Millennium Square (0113 224 3801)
    • Leeds Visitor Centre (9am - 5.30pm) at Leeds Train Station (0113 242 5242)
    • From the venue (12noon - 8pm) at the gift shop at Abbey House (0113 230 5492)

Price:   £10 General Admission, £7.50 - LEEDSCard, £6.50 for LEEDSCard Extra, £5 for Breezecard or £35 for group/family of four

Public transport  

Bus numbers 33, 33a and 757 travel from the city centre to Kirkstall Road. The nearest train station is Headingley and is a 1 mile walk from the Abbey. Please contact Metroline for up-to-date travel information on (0113) 245 7676.

Parking  

A large free car park is situated opposite Kirkstall Abbey, on Abbey Walk. This includes disabled access parking.

Disabled parking is available immediately outside of the visitor centre but must be arranged in advance.
