Ring Road Farnley Bridge Refurbishment Works

Ring Road Farnley Bridge is located in west Leeds and carries the A6110 dual carriageway over Farnley Beck. Recent inspection of the structure has identified excessive water seepage through the bridge deck and the expansion joint. This is due to an inadequate and failing waterproofing system.

To prevent further deterioration of the bridge, we are proposing to strengthen and waterproof parts of the existing bridge.

The works will be carried out under traffic management measures which will include a speed restriction, lane and road closures.

The southbound carriageway between the Butt Lane and Pudsey Road roundabouts will be subject to lane closures during the off peak hours of 9.30am to 3.30pm and 6.30 to 8pm.

One lane on the northbound carriageway between the Butt Lane and Pudsey Road roundabouts will be closed to traffic during the day throughout  the period of the works.

The northbound carriageway will be closed to traffic at night between the hours of 8pm and 5.30am with a diversion route in place. Access to side roads and properties will be available at all times.

It is anticipated the work will start in July 2012 for a period of 6 weeks.

We are aware they will cause some inconvenience to road users. We will try to minimize the disturbance and complete the works as quickly as possible.

Please find attached a Traffic Management plan showing the traffic diversion route with all signage. For further information please contact Bridges Section using the details at the top of the page
