Aire Valley Leeds is a major regeneration programme covering an area which has the potential to be one of the most significant areas of new investment and employment opportunities in the region.
Located immediately to the south east of Leeds city centre, the area extends from the Royal Armouries and Clarence Dock, eastwards through Cross Green and Stourton to the M1-A1 link road.
It contains some 350 hectares (800 acres) of potential development land - around a third of all the land available for future industrial use in West Yorkshire - and is expected to provide around 40 per cent of the city’s employment growth over the next ten years.
Work recently started on the £32 million East Leeds Link Road which will create an expressway joining junction 45 of the M1 to Leeds inner ring road. The road is scheduled for completion in November 2008 and will release up to 250 hectares of development land.
