We monitor local air quality and, where necessary take action to improve air quality in certain areas so we meet national standards set by the government.
We began detailed air quality monitoring in Leeds at the start of 1993.
You can view results from our eight permanent and short-term monitoring sites on the air quality website.
The ‘air pollution index’ page has a summary of the concentrations of pollutants in the air over the last two days, and there are also coloured graphs to show whether air pollution was low, moderate or high.
You can also find longer term data from all our current and previous monitoring sites on the ‘ratified data’ page.
