The Council in partnership with consultants WYG has undertaken a Town and Local Centres Study for EASEL and the Aire Valley (completed May 2009). It advises on a strategy for the future development and network of town and local centres and neighbourhood parades.
It is part of the evidence base for the emerging Area Action Plans, and as such will also be used in assessing relevant planning applications. It has strongly influenced in particular the Pre-Submission Draft of the EASEL AAP for public consultation in Summer 2009.
