Guided group tours are currently available around Leeds’ award winning gardens at Roundhay park, Golden Acre Park and Temple Newsam.
There are also opportunities for group tours to enjoy stop-offs at our cafes on those sites and at Lotherton Hall.
Our Redhall Nursery tours are also popular with keen gardeners and visitors to the site also get a chance to purchase a selection of our surplus stock at a bargain price.

- Roundhay park: visit to specialist Alhambra, Monet and Chelsea gardens
- Temple Newsam: visit the Georgian walled garden and national plant collections
- Lunch at Temple Newsam: in Lady Hertford Suite in Stable Courtyard.
- Redhall plant nursery – tours and shopping opportunity
- Golden Acre Park – guided tour around award winning gardens and optional refreshments.
All site visits include a guided tour by Head gardener or Estate Manager.

Leeds City Council are proud winners of 5 awards from the Chelsea Flower Show including two Gold Flora Medals. Being the only local authority to have won gold in the elite Large Outdoor Show Gardens category, we are naturally proud of our horticultural standards of excellence. Chelsea has always been integral to the training of our staff. The skills and knowledge our gardeners develop whilst working on the Chelsea Show is transferred to their work in the parks of Leeds when they return.
Our parks and countryside service maintain 7 major parks and gardens, 62 community parks and 95 recreation grounds, plus we care for 9 national plant collections and also over 150 nature areas including woodlands, wild flower meadows, lakes and ponds.
Our plant nurseries grow around 4 million bedding plants each year, including about a quarter of a million geraniums, plus around 5,000 hanging baskets and hundreds of indoor office plants.
