Building Regulation Charges

Fee Quote

Charges are payable in one or two stages depending on whether you deposit Full Plans or follow the Building Notice procedure. 

Full Plans 

  • Plan Charge - Payable when plans are deposited.
  • Inspection Charge - Payable by the applicant following the first inspection of work.

Building Notice 

  • Building Notice Charge - Payable when the notice is deposited. This is equal to the sum of the Plan and Inspection Charge, which would apply if the full plans procedure had been followed.

Regularisation Certificate 

  • Regularisation Charge - Payable when the application is deposited. (VAT exempt).

Charges are calculated by referring to the following : - 

Full Plans Application - Charges for all types of work are attached to the application form.

Building Notice  - Charges for all types of work are set out on the back of the form.

Regularisation Application -  Charges for all types of work are set out on the back of the form.

Please note: 

  • An application is not valid unless the Local Authority has received the appropriate plan charge.
  • If a plan shows an extension and alterations, then a charge for each type of work is required.

Exemption from charges - charges are not normally payable in respect of: -

(a) Work that consists of an alteration which is solely for ensuring that a disabled person benefits from that work. This applies only to dwellings or public buildings. An exemption form should accompany the application.

(b) Where plans have previously been submitted and a plan charge has been paid for the same work.
