What kind of data is stored in the new system?
The CCIS (Client Caseload Information System) contains a range of information based around the interaction of young people and the Personal Advisor.
Young people are entered into the system when they first meet with a Personal Advisor. This will be in year 10 or 11. Young people stay on the system until they are 19 years old (up to 25 for those young people with learning difficulties or disabilities).
The information held on the system includes qualifications, intended and actual destinations post 16 (education, employment and training), personal details, specific problems or issues and details of IAG (information, advice and guidance) given.
This information is kept up to date and reviewed regularly in order to ensure the best possible support is given to young people making the transition from school to adult life
When will the system be fully operational?
From the point of view of the professional user the system is fully up and running and has been since June 2008.
How will the new system affect frontline professionals?
Currently the system is being utilised by Personal Advisors within Integrated Youth Support Services and by Personal Advisors working in the voluntary, community and faith sector. By April 2009 this will also include Personal advisors from the Careers Company.
Provider organisations access the system via the web and the utilisation of vasco tokens (in order to pass through the our firewall), which support the security of the system.
How will it benefit frontline professionals?
The system will allow them to view details of work undertaken with young people irrespective of which Personal Advisors is working with at person across the city.
It will enable us to monitor any safeguarding issues. The system will also enable Personal Advisors to evaluate the work they are doing with individual young people.
The system will highlight trends helping us compare the aspirations of young people with educational opportunities, employment, training and labour market trends.
