The Jobs and Skills Service work with partners to provide learning, training and employment opportunities to people city wide.

Centres are located across the city providing support to people who find it difficult to access training and employment.

Technorth Family Learning Centre is a busy, thriving centre working with unemployed people in Chapeltown, Harehills and Chapel Allerton. The Jobshop is open to the public and offers up-to-date technology and help with Information Communication Technology (ICT).

Gipton Access Point in East Leeds, offers a range of services including information, advice and guidance (IAG), jobsearch support and Jobshop facilities for people in East Leeds.

Services in West Leeds are based in Armley, Bramley and Wortley where we offer Jobshop sessions, information, advice and guidance (IAG) and Adult Learning provision.

Jobshops in Central Leeds, Chapeltown, Harehills and Beeston offer advice on jobs and training opportunities, as well as providing help with preparing or updating a curriculum vitae (CV), support with completing application forms, information, advice and guidance (IAG) and internet access for employment and jobsearch.

Jobshop sessions are also provided at venues across the city.

Pathways to Work offers help to people in receipt of benefits because of a health condition or disability. A Personal Advisor will help you make the first step towards returning to work by creating your own choices programme tailored to your individual needs and at a pace to suit you.

The NHS Employability Programme in partnership with the Leeds Teaching Hospital has run for almost ten years. It provides opportunities for local unemployed people to train and gain work experience in a hospital environment. Information sessions run throughout the year for opportunities to train for work as Clerical Administrators or Nursing Assistants.

Adult Learning provides local and accessible learning to families and adults across Leeds. Learning takes place in over two hundred different locations throughout the city offering sessions in everything from basic music, to arts and crafts, confidence building to digital photography. Learning can lead to qualifications or can be for personal and community development.

The Construction Skills Learning Centre near the city centre, provides training in the construction trades. It offers on-site training including the BTEC Certificate and Diploma in Construction which offers young people in school the opportunity to work along side their core curriculum subject to study towards vocational qualifications and gain work experience. The Diploma in Construction Level 1, in partnership with Leeds College of Building, offers training in Brickwork or Joinery.

Jobs and Skills offer a wide range of support which includes childcare, additional language provision and assistance with travel expenses (where appropriate).
