Readers’ and Writers’ Groups

Readers’ groups are great places to meet other people who love to read, talk about books, and discover new authors that you might not have thought of trying.

Library readers’ groups usually meet once a month in local libraries, and last for about an hour. Anyone is welcome to join in, and the meetings are relaxed, informal and fun.

For younger readers, there are Chatterbooks groups, which encourage children aged between 4 and 12 to visit the library with their families, read adventurously, and become confident talking about books.

Whether you’re an experienced writer looking to develop your skills, or starting with a blank sheet of paper, you’ll find lots of help, support and creative input at one of our Writers’ Groups.

Download the full lists of Readers’ Group and Writers’ Group meetings from the pdf on the right hand side of this page.
