Leeds City Council is committed to ensuring that everyone has equal access to its services. We are determined to ensure that we can do as much as possible to ensure communication barriers are removed. With this in mind the following arrangements have been made for Council Tax payers.
Braille, tape and large print
We can send correspondence in Braille, tape or in large print in addition to your standard documents. Let us know what service you require and we will take care of the rest. This service is free.
Hard of hearing
We have a dedicated minicom line and are able to converse with customers via typetalk.
Other language translation
We can arrange for correspondence sent or received by us to be translated into a language other than English. If it helps you to write to us in your own language, please do so. If you would like to receive correspondence from us in your own language, please give us details of the language documents you require. Wherever possible, we will translate our correspondence to you. The original documents in English will be sent with the translated items. This service is free
Telephone interpretations
We can arrange for an interpreter to help out over the phone if your first language is not English. Phone us and provide us with your name, telephone number and language requirement. An interpreter will then return your call. This service is free
