Corporate Plan and Council Plan

Council Plan front cover

Our second Corporate Plan covered the period of 1 April 2005 to 31 March 2008. The plan outlined Leeds City Council's priorities for these three years and identified how we had planned to contribute to the ‘Vision for Leeds 2004 to 2020’.  The Corporate Plan has been now been replaced by the Leeds Strategic Plan and the Council Business Plan for the period 2008-11.  Information on these documents can be accessed by following the link on the right.

Corporate Plan – how did we perform?

The three years covered by the corporate plan are now complete and we have reviewed our progress in the delivery of the key objectives which we set out to achieve.  A summary of the results for all our key performance indicators over these three years can be downloaded from the links on this page.  A summary of our key successes was sent to all Leeds householder in a special “A Picture of Leeds” supplement with the About Leeds newspaper in June 2008.

The council’s statement of compliance in relation to transfer of staff can also be downloaded on this page as required by the Audit Commission.

Council Plan

In previous years we have also produced an annual performance plan ('Council Plan') which shows a concise overview of what we have achieved, what we are trying to achieve and what we are going to tackle next. The Council Plan sets out a number of key priorities for improving the services we deliver.  Archive copies of this can be downloaded by following the links on this page.

National and local performance indicators

The government has established a performance management framework to help ensure that all the council’s services provide best value. This includes a common set of performance indicators compiled by local authorities throughout the country.

These indicators are designed to let local people know the performance of their council on a range of services and allows comparison against other councils in England. You can find out how we have been performing from the performance indicator tables within the previous years Council Plan or in the Performance Indicators Annex 2005-8 which can be downloaded from the links on this page.
