Leeds Business Indexes

The Leeds Business Indexes are compiled and maintained by Leeds Library and Information Service, can be used to capture references to sources of information about

  • local companies and markets
  • business and employment issues
  • the local and national economies

The indexes comprise of annotated references to resources such as articles in journals and newspapers, as well as to directories of trades and professions, reference works, sources of statistics, market research and official reports, etc. - materials which are held mainly by the Business and Research department at Leeds Central Library.

It is intended that the indexes will make useful information more widely and easily available to those in the community who are looking for work, or are in the process of starting-up or sustaining a business, or are otherwise studying business and economic matters.

The Leeds Business Indexes have been developed, thanks to funding from the government's Neighbourhood Renewal Scheme, as part of the Library Service’s aims to develop innovative ways of managing information and making it more readily accessible to as wide a public as possible.

A range of directories is also available.
