Joining the library is completely free and you can do it online

Your library card will be posted to your address as soon as possible.
When the card arrives, please take it to any of our 53 libraries to be validated along with something which proves who you are.
Proof can include a passport, or credit, bank, Metro or student cards.

Books can be renewed

By phone on 0845 1207271, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please have your library card number and book barcode numbers ready as it is an automated service. If you need help, hold the line to speak to a member of staff during these opening hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9am – 8pm, Thursday, Friday 9am – 5pm, Saturday 10am – 5pm.
Online - Set up an account by obtaining a PIN (personal identification number) from your library.
