Boardmaker in Leeds Libraries

Boardmaker software
Boardmaker software

Leeds Library and Information Service has installed Boardmaker software in ten libraries across the city.  Boardmaker is now available at the following libraries:
Armley, Central, Compton Road, Garforth, Guiseley, Holt Park, Moor Allerton, Morley, Seacroft, Wetherby.

From December 2008, Boardmaker will also be available at the following libraries:
Beeston, Chapel Allerton, Crossgates, Headingley, Pudsey, Rothwell.

Boardmaker will also be available at Kippax library when Garforth library closes for refurbishment.

Boardmaker in libraries contains almost 10,000 images that can be used to create symbol-based materials. Every library with Boardmaker has a laminator to use with the software, so that professionals and parents can laminate their own boards and symbols.

If you would like to learn how to use Boardmaker you can book a session with a librarian at any library that has the software.  Just contact your chosen library.  There is no charge for using Boardmaker in Libraries and there is no charge for laminating your boards and symbols.  Regular library charges apply for printing (15p per page).

Boardmaker and Autism/Asperger's advice sessions at Leeds Central Library.

From November 2008, Leeds Libraries will be working with STARS (SILC Teachers Autism Response Service) to deliver advice sessions at the Central Library.  Library staff will be there to help you use Boardmaker to design and print visual resources.  STARS team will be there to advise on issues relating to individual children and young people and their specific needs.

Download the flyers on this page for more information about the advice sessions or Boardmaker in Leeds Libraries.
