The Family Placement Service offers care to disabled children in their homes, or in the homes of approved carers.
The schemes exist to offer individualised care in a flexible way to all sections of the community who have a disability or increased needs due to their age. They can also offer short breaks ranging from a few hours, day care to regular weekends, or longer periods as necessary. Family Placement also offers emergency care and medium term care if children are unable to return to their families.
- The schemes for children are: sitting and homebased care, short breaks and fostering permanency.
