Staying in hospital - pet care

You may need to contact a local kennel or cattery to look after your cats or dogs when you are in hospital if there is no one to look after them. You should be able to find details of these in your local telephone directory. You could also ask your local veterinary surgeon.

Some information is also included in the directory 'A - Z of services for older people' linked on this page.  This also provides details of an emergency pet home and cattery in Farnley. You could also contact the following organisations who may be able to assist:

  • Petsplacement - a charitable organisation. If you register your pet with them in advance, they will arrange pet care if you have to go into hospital. You can phone them on 01280 849000 or send them an email.
  • The Cinnamon Trust - a charitable organisation who have 4,500 registered volunteers across the UK. They may be able to help you find pet care if you have to go into hospital (follow the link on this page to their website).

If you are worried about the cost of boarding your pet, please call the contact centre on 0113 222 4401 or use on the e-mail link on this page.
