Leeds Community Safety CCTV
Leeds Community Safety (Leedswatch) is responsible for the provision of public space surveillance CCTV cameras in the Leeds area. All CCTV cameras are installed working in partnership with the police with regards to crime prevention, detection and reducing the fear of crime.
Currently there are over 300 camera locations which are monitored 24 hours a day. Cameras are located in a variety of areas:
City centre, Apperley Bridge, Armley, Bellbrooks, Cottingley, Cross Green Industrial Estate, East End Park, Farnley, Farsley,Garforth, Glensdales, Halton Village and Halton Moor, Harehills, Headingley, Horsforth, Hyde Park, Kippax, Leeds 11 Industrial Estate, Little Torres, Lovell Park Road, Manor Farms, Middleton, Morley, Osmondthorpe, Pudsey, Royds School (Rothwell), Riverside Industrial Estate, Rothwell, Seacroft, St George's Centre, Swillington, and Wetherby.
There are also two mobile CCTV vans that are deployed throughout the Leeds area working in partnership with the police and other Leeds partnership agencies.
New developments
Projects are being undertaken for the installation of CCTV camera systems in Otley, Yeadon and Cross Gates.
